This classic 1989 Silverton 40 foot aft-cabin cruiser is owned by Bob Blackett, who retired from the Army where he last served as a Medi-vac pilot in Korea. Bob bought the boat in Galveston and lived on it in Corpus Christi for two and a half years. Silverton built boats for comfort and luxury for 40 years in the State of New Jersey. Wine Down has two staterooms, one forward and one aft both with complete heads with showers. It sleeps eight and has a very comfortable full galley and salon. The twin 454 crusader gas engines that give the boat a maximum speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. The engine room is under the floor of the main salon with a fire extinguisher system. Wine Down’s fuel capacity is 300 gallons, it consumes eleven gallons at 2,600 revolutions per minute. It has a 100 gallon fresh-water tank, a 40 gallon holding tank, and an electric hot water heater. The galley is equipped with a 110 volt refrigerator that reverts to 12 volt when disconnected from shore power, along with a Princess 3 burner electric stove with an electric oven and a microwave oven. The vessel is equipped with gas and fume detectors in the bridge master stateroom and salon. The controls are on the flying bridge; Garmin GPS plotter, depth finder and VHF radio. Bob says the perfect name for a dingy to accompany Wine Down would be The Hang Over!
